meet in semi-finals. The women's final is scheduled for Saturday,
December 8 while the men's final is Sunday, December 9. Both games
will be played at 12:00 CT (1:00 pm ET) and be televised live on
CBC-TV. TSN/RDS will carry the complete round robin (three draws
daily) plus the semi-finals on Friday, December 7.
The last Canadian Curling Trials took place at the Keystone Centre in
Brandon, Manitoba in 1997. There, Sandra Schmirler of Regina and Mike
Harris of Toronto won to qualify for the 1998 Winter Olympics in
Nagano, Japan. The curling competition was conducted in Karuizawa,
where Schmirler won the gold medal, Harris a silver medal, as curling
became an official Olympic sport.
